Despite my offers, I made the decision to attend Rutgers University of Newark, NJ which allowed me to play right away.  I was a four year starter graduating with my Bachelors Degree.  Being selected numerous times as Rookie of The Week and went on to become Runner-Up for Rookie of The Year.  Selected to the All-Conference two years and named an Honorable mention East Coast All-American my second year.  Finishing my college career with over 1000 points.

After Rutgers, I was fortunate enough to play for five years with the Harlem Wizards.  Playing competitively overseas in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Malaysia, and Taiwan.

Being the proud father of four boys, Coaching is not only a fun teaching opportunity for me, but it is also my passion.  I have been coaching CYO, Travel, and AAU basketball since 2008.  I joined the Pure Basketball Organization in 2011.  I enjoy working with the youth and helping them to reach their full potential both on and off the court.  My objective is to ensure that they learn the fundamental building blocks of the game of Basketball while growing and progressing from game to game.

Martin Moore:

Coach Moore joined the Pure Basketball™(AAU) coaching staff in 2014. Martin is committed to helping his players prepare to compete in basketball at a high level. He is entering his third year of coaching at Pure Basketball and is known for his elite level skills workouts during his high intensity practices. His players vastly improve throughout the season and are better prepared to both make a greater impact and become better leaders on their local teams. His coaching philosophy at this age level is focused on balancing individual player development increasing the tools each player has in his toolbox all while learning how to compete at a high level as a team.

Martin played his high school basketball as an above the rim high flying guard at Nazareth Regional High School in Brooklyn, NY where he was mentored by current NYC PSAL Commissioner and legendary Coach Ted Gustus (40+ Division 1 recruits and NBA stars like Rolando Blackman/John Salley). Martin was a 1st team all tournament selection while helping Nazareth win a state championship as a sophomore. As a senior he was a Street & Smith All-American Honorable Mention and a New York All City player during the golden era in the CHSAA when it was widely considered the most competitive high school basketball league in the United States. The preparation required for head to head battles with McDonald's All-Americans like Kenny Anderson(Georgia Tech/NBA), Adrian Autry(Syracuse), Khalid Rheeves(Arizona), or Derrick Phelps(UNC) remains the foundation for the style of basketball he teaches.

After high school Martin spent a year with current division 1 coach Steven Forbes(Tennessee/Wichita St/East Tennessee State U) on scholarship at Southwestern CC in Iowa as his first point guard in a high octane offense. Martin averaged a double-double as a freshman with over 10 assists per game, and Coach Forbes credits Martin with being the prototype for the lead guards he has recruited and had success with throughout the years. Martin continued his college career with division 1 Delaware State as a starter and as one of the team's leading scorers.

Currently Coach Martin is the founder and head trainer with Blessed Ballers an intensive player development training program for individuals and small groups in the NY/NJ area. He also works as a coach at Point Guard College (PGC) during summer months. He brings all these experiences together for the young players at Pure Basketball AAU basketball.
