Welcome!

Pure Basketball Players and Parents/Guardians,

We are pleased to welcome you to the Pure Basketball organization. At Pure Basketball, we are committed to competitive play and pursuit of excellence on and off the basketball court. We measure success by the preparedness of our players to compete at an elite level in high school, serve as good citizens and role models, and ultimately their enrollment in college as a scholar athlete.

As you are aware, Pure Basketball is a not‐for‐profit organization and all of our coaches and staff serve on a volunteer basis. Therefore, parental involvement is the key to our team’s success and your child’s future. Through the season we need every parent/guardian to volunteer a minimum of three hours mostly during the weekend home tournaments when we need help collecting admission fees and working the refreshment stands. This is a minimal commitment in return for the wonderful experience your child will have playing AAU basketball this season.

You must register with the Amateur Athletic Union (www.aausports.org), complete all forms in this document as well as the online Pure Basketball AAU registration form, and pay online or by check in advance of the season/session your child is participating in. Because we are a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, your child’s AAU fee is tax deductible. Our ability to pay for gyms, uniforms, enter major tournaments and meet our other competition‐related expenses is contingent upon every player having submitted their fees in full.

For bookkeeping purposes, we would prefer that you pay online. If you must pay by check, please make the check payable to: Pure Basketball. In the memo section of the check print your child's name and grade. Bring the check to your child’s first practice.

We do recognize that there might be instances of financial hardship and we will make every effort to accommodate those payments in a reasonable manner. Our intent is not to cause undue stress but to simply have the resources to run the type of quality program that has become synonymous with Pure Basketball name.

As the season progresses there will be opportunities to communicate with Pure Basketball. We welcome your feedback and thoughts on what we are doing right and what we could be doing better. Our first priority is serving your child and making certain that he or she has a memorable AAU experience.

Again welcome to the Pure Basketball family and we look forward to a winning season of basketball and building a foundation for the future success of your child.

Sincerely, Bruce Hicks - Pure Basketball
